Even without GSC, I suggest keeping a log of SEO actions, events, and edits. A simple spreadsheet suffices for basic notes and dates. Something like this:
Keeping your own record is important for several reasons:
- You’ll eventually lose your data at GSC. GSC custom annotations are deleted after 500 days, and each site is limited to 200.
- Google might change or discontinue the annotations feature.
- You can share this information with people who can’t access GSC.
Keep your own log separately.
